Bob:

What I would like from Gather.

In the two shows we have done so far, there was a lot of chaos, and I often felt lost in the scenes. Especially the group scenes. I would like to avoid a chaotic free-for-all

I would like to see scenes where the dialogue has an opportunity to develop and characters can develop. I do like how we are pretty good and weaving various scenes together, but I would like to avoid having them to go to crazy town.

I guess I’d like to feel some hope at the end of the performance that we have a possible future moving forward.

I am not looking to impress anyone, but to have people think we would be a good addition if they were planning a show.

Aileen:

I would love to base it on the above, as it's completely different to shows we have done before (& likely different to most shows at Gather?).

Avoid - audience suggestions, tag outs, a 3rd person jumping in, intentionally 'trying' to be funny or clever, caricature or anything that doesn't feel authentic Perhaps plan for 3 x 2-prov scenes & we could practice to get used to editing the approx time per scene?

Athreya:

  1. To treat it like any other show, not be pressured by the stage.
  2. To not fall into old habits: early conflict, game before establishing anything, steamrolling ideas, talking about the thing.
  3. Making sure everyone feels safe and has the time they need.
  4. Joy/satisfaction: Gather is a fun supportive audience and I want to make sure we don't lose that in an attempt to be "perfect".
